Sunroom Window Condensation in Palm Bay: What to Record Before Calling

Locate the moisture before deciding what failed

Foggy glass can make a Palm Bay sunroom look as though it has a leak. The useful first question is where the moisture sits: on the outside surface, on the room side, or between the panes of an insulated glass unit. A few photographs and notes can help a service technician distinguish those situations without relying on a description of a window that has already dried.

Record the time and the weather

Photograph the whole opening and then the affected area. Note whether the moisture appeared in the morning, during rain or after the air conditioning ran. Record which openings are affected and whether the pattern clears later in the day. Include a photo of any water on the sill or floor before drying it.
You do not need to diagnose the room yourself. A short record such as “outside of the east-facing glass, early morning, gone by midday” is more useful than “the windows always leak.” Keep the observations factual, especially if more than one kind of moisture appears.

Check accessible surfaces safely

From a safe position, use a clean soft cloth on a small accessible area to see whether the moisture is on that surface. Follow the product's care instructions and avoid abrasive cleaners. Do not climb onto a roof or remove panels to investigate. If the exterior is not safely accessible, say that the location of the moisture is uncertain.
Andersen's exterior-condensation guidance explains that humid outdoor air and a glass surface below the dew point can produce exterior moisture. This can clear as conditions change. That explanation is a useful possibility to discuss; it does not establish the cause of every wet window or prove a particular installation is sound.

Identify the type of panel

Look for the original order, warranty or product label. A single panel, an insulated glass unit and an acrylic or vinyl porch-window system are different products. A diagnosis about moisture between sealed glass panes does not automatically apply to a porch with removable panels.
For an insulated glass unit, persistent moisture that cannot be wiped from either accessible surface may be between the panes. Andersen distinguishes this from surface condensation and associates between-pane moisture with seal failure. Ask the manufacturer or installer to confirm the location and service options before ordering replacements. The clear glass in the photograph illustrates a glazed space, not a documented condensation problem.

Describe how the room is used

Tell the technician whether the room is open to outdoor air, heated or cooled, and whether doors to the house are usually open. Mention recent changes such as added plants, drying wet items indoors or a new air-conditioning routine. If you already have a humidity meter, record its reading and location instead of guessing that the air feels damp.
Do not seal drainage openings or apply caulk indiscriminately to stop visible water. Let the installer identify the intended drainage path and inspect joints. Water that appears with rain, repeatedly wets surrounding finishes or collects on the floor deserves a prompt assessment. Protect nearby belongings and dry accessible wet surfaces safely while arranging it.
